Learn how to make a macrame plant hanger in a calm, creative session at our Dorset studio.
Join us for a peaceful, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to make your own macrame plant hanger using soft cotton cord and simple knotting techniques.
Designed for complete beginners, this workshop guides you step by step through the process — helping you build confidence and create something beautiful with your hands.
The class is held at our rural studio near Wimborne, and whenever the weather allows, we’ll take things outdoors. Under the trees and amongst the birdsong, it’s an ideal space to slow down and focus. You’ll choose your cord colour and be guided through each knot, gradually building your hanger from scratch.
By the end of the session, you’ll take home a finished macrame plant hanger — perfect for holding a small plant pot or one of our reclaimed glass domes. You’re welcome to bring your own pot, or choose from our studio selection on the day, with discounted prices available for workshop guests.
This session is as much about process as it is about product. Macrame is meditative, creative, and simple to continue at home — making it a wonderful skill to return to whenever you need a quiet reset. All tools and materials are provided, and we’ll have refreshments waiting too.
Whether you’re looking to explore something new, spend time outdoors, or make a handmade piece for your home, this macrame plant hanger workshop offers the space, tools and support to make it happen — no experience needed.
