Rust Velvet Autumn Cushion

Our rust velvet Autumn Cushion combines rich seasonal colour with natural materials and a generous rectangular shape. Designed as part of our collection of autumn cushions, it has warm rust velvet on the front and a contrasting taupe fabric on the reverse, finished with simple fabric ties.

At approximately 40 × 80cm, the longer shape works particularly well across a sofa, at the head of a bed or as a supportive cushion on a deep chair. The combination of rust and taupe pairs easily with natural linen, wool, reclaimed wood and earthy colours.

Filled with Natural Alpaca Wool

Inside is a natural alpaca wool cushion pad rather than conventional polyester or feather filling.

The alpaca wool is a by-product of yarn spinning, giving this useful material another purpose rather than allowing it to go to waste. Wool has natural loft and resilience, helping the cushion spring back into shape after use while giving it a substantial, supportive feel.

There’s no synthetic stuffing to gradually flatten and no feathers to shift or work their way through the fabric. The result is a cushion designed to be used and leant against, rather than simply arranged on a sofa.

Rust Velvet with a Taupe Reverse

The front is made from rust-coloured velvet, with a deep, tactile surface that changes subtly as the light catches the pile.

Turn the cushion over and the look is quite different. The taupe fabric reverse is finished with exposed ties through the centre, bringing a softer, more relaxed finish to the other side.

The rust velvet makes this a natural choice for autumn, but the colour isn’t limited to one season. It works particularly well alongside greens, browns, creams and warm neutrals throughout the year.

A Long Cushion for Sofas, Chairs & Beds

At approximately 40 × 80cm, this autumn cushion offers a different proportion to a conventional square cushion.

Use it lengthways across the back of a sofa, in front of pillows on a bed, on a bench, or behind the lower back in a deep armchair. Its alpaca wool filling gives it enough structure and support to be genuinely useful as well as decorative.

The longer shape also works well on its own, so you don’t necessarily need several smaller cushions to fill the same space.
