A great example of late Victorian cabinet maker Thos Turner of Manchester. The makers’ mark is stamped into the chair frame underneath the base cloth. The wood has an ebonised effect to it, popular of the Victorian period. The detail has been highlighted in gold which is still in the main in very good condition. The frame has been left in it’s natural state to leave the history of the piece in tact, while the seat and back has been restored using traditional upholstery methods and materials.
